A Little Pumpkin is on the Way!

by Meghan Yost

Move over Meghan Markle … The other Meghan with an “h” also has some exciting news to share! My hubby and I are expecting our first baby, or, as you can tell by our photos, a little pumpkin.

We are SO, SOOO happy and cannot wait to be parents. It’s something we’ve wanted for a long time, but it just took a little longer than expected to happen.

We’re due on Cinco de Mayo, which, as I’ve heard from many people (and I also agree), is a wonderful time to have a baby. So that puts me at 13 weeks, beginning today.

If you’ve been following along with my blog, you probably know we’ve recently undertaken a major home renovation (and by renovation, I pretty much mean a rebuild). Luckily, we’re not living there yet, but there is quite a lot happening in our lives right now, seemingly all at the same time.

So we’re taking it day by day. We’re not quite sure yet when our home will be complete, when we’ll be moving in, and whether or not we’ll have to switch OB-GYNs later in pregnancy, but whatever happens, we’re ready for it.

In terms of a baby bump, mine is definitely already making an appearance, and my jeans are feeling a bit snug. They say when you’re smaller (I’m 5’0″), the bump can show earlier because there’s less space for the baby to go.

I actually went shopping today at Motherhood for a few pairs of maternity pants and leggings. What’s really nice about the brand is their pants are designed to be worn from early pregnancy to late pregnancy, so they fit me now and they’ll fit me when I’m nine months preggo.

I have to say, so far maternity clothes are super cute and super comfy. I’m looking forward to my bump growing even more and showing it off. Even when I wasn’t pregnant, I always had a little belly, so I’m also happy that for the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I have to hide my not-so-flat tummy.

I’ll be sharing a lot more about my pregnancy on this blog, so stayed tuned for more.
