Podcast of the Week: Young House Love

by Meghan Yost

In need of a new podcast to listen to? I’ve got you covered.

If you’re a fan of HGTV and, especially, Chip and Joanna Gaines, you’ll love this show.

I first stumbled across Young House Love via the DIY home design blog of the same name: YoungHouseLove.com.

I was looking to revamp old brass door knobs (which reminds me, I never did complete that project), and that lead me to the world of John and Sherry – the husband-and-wife duo with a knack for transforming dilapidated homes into modern day masterpieces.

The pair have renovated multiple houses and share all about their projects, design ideas, flips, flops and clever hacks (like turning ikea cabinets into custom built-ins).

They’re currently reno-ing a beach house in Cape Charles, VA as well as a duplex nearby, so they talk a lot about that.

Their podcast also features interviews with experts on various home-centric topics, like de-cluttering, living in a tiny home, and remodeling.

John and Sherry as a pair are adorable. They’re like the couple you want to double date with. They’re always making me laugh to myself as I drive down the highway.

Also, for me the topic of this podcast is very apropos as my husband and I just bought a fixer upper (more on that soon) and are undertaking a huge renovation (check back often because I’ll be sharing all about the project on the blog).

So whether you’re looking to spruce up your home, or just love DIY design, this is the podcast for you.
